A rear connection across the rail joint
This molded acetal connector bridges the back of two adjacent side guide rails. The illustrated concept is an elongated plate with four plain through holes in one row and a shallow locating rib along one long edge. The hole layout is intended to be divided across the joint, with fixing locations assigned to each rail section in the assembly drawing.
Its role is connection at the rail ends. It is not the guide block or wear surface that contacts passing containers. The splice plate should remain behind the rail contact face, and the conveyor designer must establish the rail support arrangement. Neither rail sections nor brackets, screws, nuts or washers are included with the plastic plate.
Reference both rail ends from the same datum
Please provide the cross-section of the rail, including any metal backing, recessed track or molded rear feature. Identify the surface against which the splice plate seats and the feature that the shallow rib should locate against. The rib is a drawing-defined alignment aid, not a universal tongue that fits every conveyor profile.
Show the intended joint line relative to the four fixing holes. Two holes on each side may be appropriate for a particular layout, but the required edge distances and available fixing locations must be reviewed on the actual rails. A symmetric plate outline does not ensure that the rail hole pattern is symmetric. Include any existing holes that must be reused when replacing a connector.

Separate joint alignment from rail expansion
Define the required relationship between the two product-contact faces, including any permitted step, angular offset and end gap. These are assembly requirements rather than dimensions that can be inferred from a photograph. The rail ends should be evaluated in their supported positions, because a connector alone cannot correct an incorrectly positioned support bracket.
The illustrated holes are round, not adjustment slots. If the rail system requires longitudinal movement, state where that movement is provided and which fasteners establish a fixed datum. Do not assume that clearance in a round hole provides a controlled expansion arrangement. The complete joint design should address the operating conditions of both the rail and the connector.
Keep installation hardware behind the contact face
Specify fastener direction, head style, washer footprint and the mating threaded feature. Check the assembled screw length so that it cannot project into the container path. The plain holes shown do not contain molded threads. If inserts, counterbores or recessed nuts are needed, provide their dimensions for a separate design and tooling review.
Show the space available behind the rail for a driver or wrench, including guards and adjacent machine members. Also decide whether one rail section must be removable without disturbing the next section. This affects the installation sequence and the access required at each fixing location.
For quotation, provide CAD files, quantity, rail material, joint orientation and the expected service environment. Identify cleaning exposure and any special resin-documentation requirement. No food-contact approval, friction coefficient, load rating or service-life result is claimed for this concept. The images illustrate a possible custom geometry and do not document a tested joint or earlier production.
Before tooling, the seating-face flatness, rib dimensions, hole positions and acceptable gate locations can be reviewed against the selected rail profile. Sample acceptance should then use both rail sections and the actual fasteners to assess fit, alignment and access.
